France so far
So, I've been here for 2 weeks so far! Its great! I love it here, but miss everyone back home!
The first week in France was spent in Paris and that was amazing! We did pretty much everything you can think of to do there! We went to the top of Notre Dame, to the top of the Eiffel Tower, to sacre Coeur, to Montmartre, to the Arc de Triomphe. We walked to all kinds of different gardens too. On the last day there we went to Versailles, which was beautiful! Me and 2 of the girls I was hanging out with rented bikes there and rode around for an hour on the bike! It was so fun! We did lots of other things too, but I don't even remember right now! We took a boat ride on the Seine (at night of course) to see the city all lit up!
I have made lots of friends here so far, which is great! The whole group of USAC students are so great! everyone is so nice and very easy to get along with! and our "guides" are very nice too! They are named Ryan and Robina. Ryan is from Ohio and decided to move to Pau after his study abroad experience here! Robina is from Germany, but has lived here for 15 years!
Here is Pau it's great too! My host family is nice, so that's good! It is a woman named Anne-Sophie and 2 kids named Pierre-Guillaume and Laurie-Anne. They are 8 and 9 and very cute! Anne-Sophie speaks English, but the kids do not. I like the town of Pau as well. It's not what I expected, but still very nice! I like to go downtown and sit on 'the boulevard' to have a drink with friends! The boulevard is kinda the main hangout for college students here. It has a great view of the mountains too! I have gone out a few times with some French students I met already! they are very nice and quite funny. They laugh at all of us when speaking French and we laugh at them when they speak English! its great! I am very happy to have met them!
